As I mentioned in my previous blog I was implementing WorkFlow Max for our practice. It is now in a workable state. By this I mean key client data is there for us to work with it from tomorrow. There is still some work to be done, like client relationships and ensuring clients data (address, contact details) are up to date.
Till I have worked with WFM for at least a week, I am not able to say what I think of it. As I am sure you will agree, this is the only was to make a proper assessment. I will report my views on WFM in my blogs over the coming weeks.
One area that made me really think whilst setting up WFM is the question of capacity. In other words how much time is available for chargeable work.
I took the step of allowing only 50% of my time on chargeable work. The rest of the time will be spent on practice growth activities. I just do not see it any other way to grow my practice.
I also Goggled to see what marketing support and advice is available for accountants , I came across Bamboo Marketing For Accountants . I thought the CD package is good – but for £600! Come on Paul Shrimpling! It is just too much for small practices.
I also loved Paul Shrimpling’s Buiness Bitesize The lowest I could get it for is £140 per month. Again it is just too much for a small practice.
So on marketing my practice, I have resorted to this slightly out of date book Internet Marketing Bible for Accountants. I just started reading the book and so far it is very good. The Kindle version is only £7.20.
Tomorrow is a normal work day for me. I need to put in chargeable hours!
